Hawke's Bay Regional Council needed to show environmental monitoring information for Papanui Stream. This gave them and the public the ability to see the same information about the stream. It allows everyone to see the most up-to-date information about the environmental status of the stream. Interest groups can now go to this page in their website to see which improvements have been made to the quality of the stream and the biodiversity.

WebShed had to integrate into the councils Telemetry system to get all the data that needed to be displayed. The information was broken down into accordions so that you can see at a glance the current status of the measurement with the colour coded images. The user can then delve deeper into the measurement by selecting the accordion; this will open up the graph to show the latest readings and how they compare against the target. The target is shown on the graph using the same colours.

Highcharts was used for displaying the information as interactive graphs. Some of the graphs show two sets of data to give the information context: such as live oxygen & temperature or turbidity & flow etc.
