WebShed Plugin 3.8.0 - Released 1 May 2025
With the release of SilverStripe 5.4.0, we’ve updated our CMS plugin at WebShed to bring you the latest features, performance improvements, and fresh functionality, with full testing in place. Check out some of the key new features below.
- Bug fixes and patching
- News Element now allows you to set the number of images to show to override the defaults. Added an eighth layout to show summary over the news image for every third news article, great for home page layouts. Added ability to create authors and assign them to articles. Added ability for customers to add comments to articles if enabled. Added ability to change the layout of the article page allowing for numerous options now.
- Content Above: The ability to add content above any element has been extended to allow for alignment options, icons and the ability to control padding.
- Accordion Element allows you to now display them in two columns so they can be next to each other on the one page instead of having to add two different accordion elements to the page.
- Content Element: A fifth layout has been added to this element that allows you to display the content for customer comments in speech bubbles.
- Media Element: A fifth layout has been added to this element that displays some images as larger thumbnails in with the smaller ones, creating a great looking image gallery.
- Statistics Element: The counter layout has been changed to have a prefix and a suffix to allow for adding text in front and behind the number being counted. The counter now only starts counting when in focus not on page load. The counter also recounts every time it comes back into focus.
- Website Search Improvements: Major updates to improve site search speed and accuracy. Added extra ability to filter on other document types. Ability to add extra keywords against any document when uploading or editing.
- Scrollable image: A new CSS style has been added in the WYSIWYG editor allowing you to add images with a large length to the site and it will add the ability to scroll it in a smaller space.
- Fees and Charges: Added ability to now hide a fee category from the site. Useful when a whole category needs to be hidden for a short time.
- Page Layout Label Change: We have renamed the labels on the layout page to be clearer, they are now edit block and edit element.
- Elements Display: We have changed the elements default display to now show the selected layout and the number of items that are added to it.
We hope you’ll enjoy the new features on your website - we are aiming to begin the roll out from late May 2025. And feel free to get in touch if you'd like to chat about how these can improve your website.
