SilverStripe 6.2.0 - Released 17 April 2026

The latest release of SilverStripe CMS 6.2.0 has gone stable, and it's main focus is on accessibility. This release marks a milestone in the lifecycle for the Silverstripe CMS 5 major version series. Specifically, CMS 5.4 has now transitioned from “full support” to “partial support”. In short, this means CMS 5.4 will no longer receive patches for regular bug fixes, nor patches for security vulnerabilities with a severity rating of medium or lower. Some of the key changes are:

  • Accessibility Improvements
  • Unsaved changes indicator
  • Support for PHP 8.5

You can read the blog post all about it on SilverStripes website.

WebShed Plugin 6.3.0 - Released 1 May 2026

With the release of SilverStripe 6.2.0, we’ve updated our CMS plugin at WebShed to work seamlessly with it. We are now releasing the latest features, performance improvements, and fresh functionality we have been working on since our last release, with full testing in place.

The main focus of the WebShed Plugin update has been around continual improvement of the quick edits and speed improvements. Below we have highlighted some of the main features:

  • Integrate with SilverStripe 6.2.0
  • PHP 8.4 Support
  • Bug fixes and patching
  • Upgrade to latest Bootstrap and JQuery
  • Multi factor Authentication: 2FA is now available when logging in to the website CMS. You can read more about this in our full article about 2FA
  • Quick Edits: The quick edits feature has now been combined with the admin bar to create one seamless interface. New features have been added to this new slide out side panel to make it even more useful.
  • Elements: New button added to the page layout tab so that you can add new elements straight from the page
  • Site Map: Two new options have been added to allow for different layouts of a site map page
  • Speed Improvements: Both the A to Z and Site Map pages have been re-written to increase page load speed
  • Blocks: Added ability to add text above and below blocks. This allows the element to be used on multiple pages but with different text around it for the specific context that it is in.
  • Fees: Ability to export fee categories as CSV and import back in with new values for the next year
  • Encryption at rest: We have updated the module that we use for encryption at rest

We hope you’ll enjoy the new features on your website - we will be rolling these out to websites when your site comes up for their scheduled patching. And feel free to get in touch if you'd like to chat about how these can improve your website.
